4 Simple and Easy ways to Create your Meditation Room

But first, Why you need a meditation room

So, you’ve decided to start meditating, but struggle to keep a regular practice ?

Well, I might have a solution for you.

One tip that helped me start my meditation journey and mostly stick with it, was to create a meditation room. Well, tbh, I didn’t have that much space in my house at that time, so I didn’t really have a meditation room but rather a meditation space.

Tomato, Tomato.

Having a room, a space, a tree house in the garden that is dedicated to meditating will help you immensely in being regular with your practice. Because whenever you will find yourself in that sacred space you created, your mind will automatically know that it's time to go inward and honor yourself – which will definitely make it way easier for you.

Having a meditation room will not only help with your mindset but it will also greatly raise the vibrations in that space. Indeed, after meditating at the same place for a while, you will actually feel the spiritual energy when you enter your space.

Convinced ? Then here’s how to get started with creating your meditation room :

Here are 4 Simple and Easy ways to Create your Meditation Room:

  • Step #1 - Find your space

When it comes to creating your meditation room, keep in mind that this doesn’t have to be complicated. If you have an entire room that you can dedicate to your meditation practice, then great ! But if not, don’t worry, your at-home sanctuary can be the corner of a room or a specific place in your garden. Really, it depends on you. Just find that place that makes you feel safe, comfortable and where you know that you will be able to retreat to.

I would suggest that whatever place you decide to dedicate to your meditation practice, make sure that it has good vibes, that it’s clutter-free, that you can get some good lighting – and while we’re at it, add some plants (they literally help you breathe better). Also, think about putting all distractions away like the TV, or piles of laundry.

After that, it all depends on you !

Making your space sacred means that you will not treat it like any other space in your home. This space you are creating must feel special.

You can make it sacred by dedicating it solely to your meditation / yoga practice. Ask your family to respect that space and if ever they wish to use it, may it be only for meditating.

Also, try to keep your electronic devices at bay whenever you are in your sacred space, unless of course you are using a meditation app.

I hope these will motivate you into creating your beautiful at-home sanctuary where you can go to quiet the world and dive deep inside – after all, that’s where the magic happens.
