» here’s how to Calm your mind under 5 minutes
Meditation for Anxiety : Step #1
Find a comfortable position. This could be sitting down, lying in your bed before sleep, on your bus ride to work. Anywhere where you feel safe and comfortable will do.
Meditation for Anxiety : Step #2
Take a few deep breaths and observe what’s on your mind without judgment. Simply notice how you feel in your mind and in your body.
Meditation for Anxiety : Step #3
When you are ready, imagine a gray cloud around your chest area. Think of one negative emotion, feeling or situation that you are experiencing at that moment and place it in the cloud.
Meditation for Anxiety : Step #4
Take another deep breath and with your eyes closed, visualize that grey cloud containing your negative emotion slowly lifting out of your head, and drifting away. Just let the cloud go far into the distance until it disappears.
Meditation for Anxiety : Step #5
If you have other negative emotions or feelings that you would like to get rid of, repeat the step above using one cloud for each negative feeling.
Meditation for Anxiety : Step #6
Once you’ve sent far away all your clouds containing negative emotions, take a deep breath and come back to centre. Observe how your body feels more relaxed.
Meditation for Anxiety : Step #7
When you are ready, imagine a big bright shining sun just above your head. With each breath, feel the sun gently coming down into your heart area, bringing warmth, love, light and peace.
Meditation for Anxiety : Step #8
As you continue breathing, visualize the sun getting bigger and brighter until it surrounds all of your being. Feel the beautiful, happy, calm and loving rays of the sun all over your body.
Meditation for Anxiety : Step #9
Stay in that peaceful and loving place as long as you need. Once you are done, simply open your eyes, thank yourself for creating this beautiful space and go on with your day.
I know how anxiety feels. And I also know that many of you feel it too. I truly hope that this best meditation for anxiety can help you release any negative tension you might be experiencing and allow you to breath lighter.
